Biography

Kathy is an Iowa native and proud University of Iowa Alumna.  Kathy recently celebrated 25 years of employment at the University of Iowa and has enjoyed collaborating in the College of Law, Department of Dance, and School of Music.  Kathy currently works directly with University Bands - including the largest and most visible music ensemble on campus – the Hawkeye Marching Band!  While a student at Iowa, Kathy was also a trumpet player in the Hawkeye Marching Band and Iowa Pep Bands and enjoyed performing in the Rose Bowl and Holiday Bowl.  This past spring break, Kathy toured and performed with the University of Iowa Concert Band in Northern Ireland. Kathy has fostered and maintained several professional networks across campus and values the diversity and vast resources available at the University of Iowa.  Some of the many committees Kathy has served on include Marketing Director for the Council on Disability Awareness, Co-Chair for the Hancher Advisory Committee, CLAS We Are Phil campaign, CLAS Recognition Committee, On Iowa!Kickoff at Kinnick, the Division of Performing Arts Staff Recognition Committee, Staff Advisor for UI Collegiate 4-H, and most recently Kathy was nominated to serve on the UI Staff Council. If you don’t find Kathy in the Band Office, or recruiting new students, you will likely find her sporting black and gold at any number of Iowa sporting events. On Iowa and GO HAWKS!
